Wednesday Words

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone,

Andy Grammer will be on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno on Friday night. Don’t miss it!

On this date in 1997, Lady Diana, former wife of Prince Charles, was killed along with her companion Dodi Fayed in a car accident in Paris. Tests conducted by French police indicated that the driver, who also perished in the crash, was intoxicated and likely caused the accident while trying to escape the paparazzi photographers who were following them. With the long weekend coming up, Don’t Drink And Drive!

Our Specials today are “Chili (Beef or Veggie) with Cornbread, Salad, Diced Onions, and Shredded Cheese” and “Tallarin Saltada de Pollo (Spaghetti, Chicken or Veggies, and Grilled Bell Peppers & Onions) in a Peruvian Sauce.”

Our Soups today are, “Creamy Chicken Tortilla” and “Vegetable Noodle (V).”

Well, it’s the last day of August, and it’s our last day as the owners of Tada. After 2 ½ years of serving our community through Tada, we’ve decided to take on some new adventures in our life together. We have some great memories of our customers, friends, and employees who made Tada what it is today. We’re confident that the new owners of Tada will continue to build relationships in the community and move forward with enthusiasm. Come by tomorrow and meet Sunny and Kin and welcome them to the neighborhood. We’ll miss you all, but we will be around for another month assisting them with the transition, and ensure your confidence that their leadership will only make things better.

We appreciate all of you and we will never forget the relationships that have been forever imprinted on our hearts.

Very Sincerely,

Lisa & Jim

Wednesday Word

Good Wednesday Morning everybody!

On September 7, 1813 in an upstate New York newspaper called the Troy Post the phrase “Uncle Sam” was first used. No one is totally sure how this phrase came to be, but it is believed to come from two different references combined into one. One to the “US” that is stamped on all government property, the other to a local army supply inspector, Uncle Sam Wilson.

Our specials today are “Sloppy Joes (Beef or Veggie); Sides of Onions & Cheese, fries
Also today we have Jambalaya; Chicken, Sausage & Shrimp in a Jambalaya sauce served over Pasta.

Our soups today are Creamy Chicken Tortilla and French Onion (V).

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks

Monday Moments

Good Monday Morning Everyone,

Moral Panic? Ever heard of it? The “Cell Phone” causes cancer, “Facebook” and other social networking tools are destroying our children, and there is an “Information Overload” which will desensitize us all.

Well Moral Panic is nothing new. Socrates warned against “writing” because it would “create forgetfulness” due to the lack memorizing stories (not). In the 15th Century, with the invention of the printing press, there was a fear that the availability of books would create a society of socially isolated and distracted individuals because they would abandon the practice of listening to stories from a public pulpit (not). In the 19th century, when bicycles were first introduced in America, some warned that the new mode of transportation would cause bodily harm. The most severe of these ailments was “bicycle face,” which antibicyclists claimed was produced by excessive worry over maintaining balance while riding a bike (not). In the 1880’s the introduction of the phonograph player was going to destroy live concerts (not). When electricity came to America there was an initial pushback against electrifying homes, because some said, “If you electrify homes you will make women and children vulnerable. They claimed predators would be able to tell if they are home because the lights were on, and they will be able to see them” (not). In the 1970’s the VCR was supposed to kill Television (not). And in the 1980’s pirated “Basic” was supposed to devastate software development (not).

Even Socrates got it wrong. So instead of spending our lives worrying about what might happen, we should live our lives making things happen!

Our Specials today are “2 Empanadas (Beef, Chicken, or Spinach) served with French Fries, Salad, and Chimichurri Sauce” and “Honey Stung Fried Chicken, served with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Veggies.”

Our Soups today are, “Chicken with Tortellini” and “Creamy Carrot & Ginger (V).”

Have a Moral Panic Free Monday!

Thanks,

Lisa & Jim

Fun Friday

Good Fun Friday Morning Everyone,

On this date, 91 years ago, The United States ratified the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. This amendment prohibits voting booth discrimination on the basis of sex; allowing women in the United States to vote. In 1974, Congress designated this day as “Women’s Equality Day.” I have a hard time believing there were any women in the 70’s that needed Congress to tell them they had equality. And really, did Congress pass a law dedicating “only” 1 day as “Women’s Equality Day”? The Congress of the 70’s was either filled with a bunch of comedians or a bunch of single men. Anyway, good job ladies, and fun with “Equality Day.”

Our Specials today are “Spaghetti & Beef or Veggie Meatballs, served with Garlic Bread” and an “Irish Turkey Reuben Sandwich (Sliced Turkey on Rye Bread with Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese, & Thousand Island Dressing) served with Potato Skins, and Glazed Carrots.”

Our Soups today are, “Chicken Matzo Ball” and “Veggie Minestrone (V).”

Have a Fun Friday!

Thanks,

Lisa & Jim

Thursday Thoughts

Good Thursday Morning All,

“Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.”

With that said so perfectly by Albert Einstein, we’d like to congratulate Travis & Leah on their upcoming marriage this Saturday. It has been a great privilege getting to know the both of you over the last 2 1/2 years. We’d like to offer you this prayer for your life together, “May the sun shine on you all day long, everything always go right and never wrong. May those you love bring love back to you, and may all the wishes you wish come true!”

Our Specials today are “Pappas Fajitas (Beef, Chicken, or Veggie) Con Tada – Fajitas of your choice combined with French Fries, with sides of Rice and Flour Tortilla’s” and the “Hamburger Bar (Beef, Turkey, or Veggie) with French Fries, Salad, Chili, Cheeses, Guacamole, and all the Burger Fixin’s.”

Our Soups today are, “Chicken Noodle” and “Cream of Mushroom (V).”

Have a Terrific Thursday!

Thanks,

Lisa & Jim
